Addis Ababa(SBN)Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the friendly relations and opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various sectors, especially in development, economy, and investment.

The two leaders also exchanged views on the developments of events and issues on the regional and international arenas as well as a number of issues of common concern.

During the talk, PM Dr Abiy praised UAE’s efforts and its international humanitarian initiatives in promoting the values of tolerance, co-existence, and cooperation among different people and cultures.

He further stressed his country’s interest in strengthening and diversifying its relations with the UAE, which is an investment, economic, trade and tourism hub, to support the aspirations of the two countries to achieve development and prosperity for their friendly people.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his part pointed out the importance of enhancing the level of cooperation between the UAE and Ethiopia to various new tracks that enhance the interests of both countries and meet the aspirations of people of the two countries for development and prosperity.

The Ethiopian Prime Minister and the Crown Prince also visited some of the athletes competing in the Special Olympic World Games at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Prime Minister Dr Abiy is on a tour of the region and yesterday visited Qatar, where he met with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad.

PM Dr Abiy last visited the Emirates in July, when he and Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki were honoured with the UAE’s highest civil honour.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed conferred the Order of Zayed on both leaders at the Presidential Palace.
